US Open Friday Aug 29th

I had the great opportunity on Friday to go to the US OPEN. It was truly an amazing event!
This is one of the entrances into the US OPEN. The globe in the background was the
one used in MEN IN BLACK at the end of the movie.
This is the match between Jafin (former winner of the US OPEN) and Roberdo. Roberdo won the match and Jafin has a really big attitude. He got a penalty against him for throwing a racket when he missed a ball.

This is Andy Roderick (former bf of Mandy Moore) playing. Of course you can't really see him very well. He did throw a tantrum while we were watching a brake 2 rackets in about 30 seconds. WOW, what a baby!!

In Labor

(This was the only pic I could find on such short notice! Lindsay and our friend Doug)
For some of you this will be exciting and for others you will think "who cares", but I am excited!! My old college roommate, who recently moved to Rhode Island (only about 2 1/2 hours from me!!!), went into labor this morning at about 8:30. I can't believe that she is having a baby. Welcome to the world

Tour of the city: Joana and I

This is the famous NY Macy's. It is an entire city block. It is the biggest shopping store in NY.
Some views of the city from the ESB.

This sign is painted on the side of a building and is preserved because it has the twin towers painted in it. It was painted pre-9/11.
I just thought this was cool. In the middle of the city there was this apartment ans it had this cool little balcony with a garden.
Only in New York!
The Good Morning America Building in Rockefeller Center.
This is Madison Square Garden. Underneath this is Penn Station. This is where I take the train home. I think is totally crazy that there is a train station under an arena.

This is the famous flat iron building.
The Statue of Liberty. We took a boat out to the island. It was unbelievable.

Joana looks good...Me well that's another story. :)

My good friend Joana came to visit me and we took a tour of the city. It was so much fun. We took a double decker bus and sat up on the top and got to see all the sights. Our 1st stop was the Empire State building. I was amazed at all you could see. It is truly a beautiful city.

It took about an hour to wait in all the lines and then make our way to the top. You could actually feel the building swaying when you stand at the top.

Working out the kinks

So first of all I have all the pictures downloaded, edited, re-sized etc. Now it's actually getting them on here. I promise it is a work in progress. Anne is going to walk me through it one of these nights when I don't fall asleep by 7 pm. To all of you mothers out there...God Bless You! I am not sure how you do it 7 days a week. I only have to do it 5 and I am exhausted!!
